Early Stage Control

Pre-Production Inspection (IPI)Initial Production Check

Before production officially begins, comprehensively verify raw materials, components, accessories, and equipment to ensure readiness and eliminate potential risks early。

What is IPI?

Initial Production Check (IPC or IPI) is typically conducted when the factory has completed 0% to 10% of production. Its core purpose is to verify whether the factory has correctly understood the customer's product specifications and to confirm if raw materials and production equipment are ready to meet order requirements.

Why do you need IPI?

Avoid massive rework caused by incorrect raw materials or mold defects, saving valuable time and money.

Core Checkpoints

Comprehensive inspection across Man, Machine, Material, Method, and Environment (5M1E)

Raw Material Verification

Check whether the specifications, models, and colors of main raw materials, trims, and accessories are consistent with the BOM, and randomly sample for simple functional tests.

Production Capacity Assessment

Verify the production line's daily capacity plan, equipment operating status, and personnel allocation to predict if on-time delivery is possible.

First Article/Pre-production Sample Confirmation

Compare the customer's Golden Sample with the factory's PP Sample, confirming process details, dimensional tolerances, and appearance standards.

Risk Early Warning

Identify potential risk points that may lead to quality issues (e.g., damp storage environment, sharp tools) and provide improvement suggestions.

Packaging Material Check

Confirm whether the printing content, dimensions, and materials of packaging materials like cartons, color boxes, hangtags, and manuals meet requirements.

Quality Standard Alignment

Hold a pre-production meeting with the factory's QC department to unify appearance inspection standards and defect judgment scales.

Unsure if you need IPI?

If your product uses expensive raw materials or is a newly developed complex product, we strongly recommend a pre-production inspection.
